Back Pain

Back pain is more pervasive than ever before in our culture. Studies show that 8 out of 10 people suffer from it at some point in their lives.

For some people, the pain is acute and sudden, lasting anywhere from a few days to a few months. For others, the pain can be dull, but constant. In either case, back pain can create a major impediment to enjoying your life. Simple and necessary activities like picking up your children, opening window and tying your shoes can be excruciating when your back isn’t functioning properly.

Back pain can have many causes. It can certainly occur due to auto accidents, sports injuries, and overall lack of strength; however, the most common cases we see are a result of poor posture over time. This is especially true today when a tremendous amount of people sit for long periods of time at their workstations, often hunched over their computers.

Traditional approaches to treating back pain include heat and ice, ultrasound, electronic muscle stimulation, mechanical traction and a variety of stretching exercises. While many of these approaches do provide the patient with some amount of relief, the effects are rarely permanent and the pain returns.

At ESPRIT WELLNESS, our goal is not to provide you with temporary pain relief, but to truly eliminate it. To do this, we partner with our patients in an investigative examination to discover the underlying cause of the problem. Only then can we determine the best possible route to your long-term healing.

Our specialized approach to treating back pain at ESPRIT WELLNESS has our patients reporting complete relief in a relatively short amount of time. Most importantly, they report finally getting back to the active lifestyle they enjoy.

Knowledge coupled with your willingness to follow the healthy guidelines we create for you will surely put you back on the path to health.
